Yes! After a long delay and too much time without any news, it is with great pleasure that I say that Shadow of a Pirate is released!
We’re very sorry for the lack of news. we had many unexpected things (some good some awful) that delayed us a lot.
Let’s see the good ones:

Festival 5 Minutos

We’ve received a message from one of the organizers of the Festival Nacional 5 Minutos (literally “5 Minutes Festival”), inviting us to participate of the games part of the event.
The festival, currently at it’s 15ª edition, aims the selection and award of videos with up to 5 minutes, with free thematic and aesthetic. The goal is to stimulate the experimentation, production and diffusion of this medium on Brasil. Nowadays the event has a Brazilian-made game expo and we are more than happy to be part of it.
Unfortunately we have no means to be physically at the event (that will happen between October, 15 and 20, at Bahia), but our game will be there and the production of the festival will send us the covering material so we can see and share with you!

RageTools

Another good news is that we’ve been at the InteropMix workshops circuit, here in São Paulo, and we were the winners of a raffle made by the creator of one of the most successful Unity tools: RageTools. In the package, we received the licenses of RageTools, RageTools Pro and Rage Spline. They allows us to easily and flexibly create games with 2D graphics. What it does is mainly turn vector images (from Illustrator, for instance) into 3D objects in Unity. Besides it give you a diversity of tools so that you can work with this objects.
Anyone interested can access their website.

Play!

We’re making the game available in three places: Kongregate, Wooglie and here on the blog, as well.
No matter where do you play it, we only ask you to leave us a comment saying what you think of it and share!
It is a demo, so you might find some bugs. Unfortunately we have a limitation regarding adding new contents. The game cannot exceed 20Mb, because that’s the limit of game portals that accept Unity. Shadow of a Pirate have currently more than 19Mb, which leave us extremely limited as to add anything on it. That’s why we ask a little patience in case you might find something that needs correction or if you believe that the game should have “that feature”.
Anyway, we would like to say that it was very fun, stressful and rewarding to make it and we hope you like it.

Recently we've been making some modifications to the blog. Here's a brief explanation of them:

New Domain
We've got a domain for our blog and now, as you might notice, the address is www.mirisstudio.com. The old address now redirect to this, so you can still acess the blog through mirisstudio.blogspot.com

Trailer
It has been added a bar on the bottom of the blog where people can watch the trailer. We notice that many people were acessing the blog and coudn't find this informationwhile navigating.

Language Option
Acording to our statistics, 90% of the blogs visitors are from Brasil, and although we've our plan was to be acessible to the everybody, we've notice that many visitors translated the blog using Google Translate and simillar tools. From now on you'll have the content avaible in english as well as in portuguese
The translation is made manually, wich grants that no bizarre automatic translations msitakes are made.
The downside is that somethings like jokes are hard or impossible to translate, so we have to adapt them or, when there's no option, get rid of them :(
The portuguese version of the blog can be acessed on www.pt.mirisstudio.com or acessing the blag normally and clicking on the little Brazil flag on the top of the page.

Portuguese Translation
Last night we've translated all the contents of the blog, wich includes links, tags, imagens and all the posts we've already made (every single one of the three).

We hope you like the changes. If you have any considerations, ideas to make the blog better for you and everybody, please fell free to post a comment or send us an email. We'll be glad to hear from you and if it is a good suggestion, we'll surelly make it happend.

Yaarr! It is finally done!
Yes fellow friends, it took us patience, time and some effort but we finished the trailer last night and it is already on YouTube and Vimeo.
It took us too long because someone was going to make it for us, but it didn’t worked out, so we’ve decided to do it ourselves. And then, in two days of intense brainstorm and production, we’ve made this little piece of history on our studio. We hope you enjoy (and share):

We’ve added a new YouTube button on the top of the blog so you can easily get to our channel and check out our latest videos.
It was a lot of fun making this video and we are thinking on posting a video with the bloopers soon.
Right now we’re busy planning our next week of production for our next game but I believe we can arrange some time to make another video (specially because the next can be funny).
The demo for SoaP will come sometime next week so stay tuned for more news on SoaP and our next project!

Hello and sorry for the delay.

We’ve told you on the last post that we’ll be showing some more concepts on the following weeks, but we still showed nothing.

But wait no more fellow “mateys”, we’ve just created an album for the game on our Google+ and Facebook pages where we’ll be putting the concept arts and soon some screenshots and the trailer of the game.

About the game itself, last week we’ve made an presentation on Senac (our former university), to all the students coursing Digital Game Technology and apparently the reception was good! (Yeah! I mean… Yarr!!)

That’s why we’ve been so busy: we’ve had to correct some bugs and make everything look good for the presentation. And even though some unexpected things, like the boss deciding to not show up at the last moment, I guess people liked our work. Now we’re finishing the last things (like the boss issue) and we’re confident that until next weekend we’ll have something to show to everyone.

The Next Game

Recently we’ve been discussing about our next game. With this game will be targeting mobile and it’s production already started.

We’ve divided the team, so that everything (the SoaP last touches, trailer and the next game production) happen at the same time.

For this next game we’ll use a crowd funding site to fund the game. We’re still discussing which site, but you can be sure, we’ll know when we have decided. In our schedule, one month from now we’ll have something decent to record a video and show the idea to everyone.

In the meantime, we ask you to give us your like on Facebook, or follow us on Google+ and/or Twitter.

That way you’ll easily receive the last news and updates and can share the news with your friends.

“A young pirate sees her captain being fatally wounded by the terrifying Black Beard, who steals the main clue of a mysterious treasure.
As his last order, the captain of the ship says she must go to an island to find the second way to get to the treasure.”

This is Shadow of a Pirate, our first game. (yeah!)
It started as a college group project and we decided to continue it’s production. Right now it is in the Beta Demo stage (yes we have a lot to work to do).
The game is a platform-adventure where you control the young pirate you’ve read in the little backstory above. During the game, among other pretty cool stuff, you’ll shoot some seadogs, jump and balance on platforms and escape some crazy traps like flying sharks.
...
Yes.
Freaking Flying Sharks! Don’t believe it? See it for yourself in some weeks, when we upload a free web player where you’ll be able to play and, of course, tell us what you’re thinking of the game so far.
Meanwhile stay tuned for some concepts from Luíz Andre, one of the artists behind this project.
Here’s a sneak peek:
